Term: 4 yearsSalary: $80,133Incumbent Ward 1 Councilman Joe Jones and Ohio Rep. Juanita O. Brent were the top two vote-getters among the five candidates who ran in the Sept. 9 primary. They will face off in the Nov. 4 General Election.. Cleveland’s wards were reduced from 17 to 15 this year, resulting in ward redistricting across the city. The new outline of Ward 1 is only slightly altered from the old one. It includes most of the current Ward 1, with a sliver of the current Ward 2. Here is a map of the new Ward 1. Cleveland municipal races are nonpartisan.
