I have been in business management for over 40 years. I am currently the Broker In Charge of large Real Estate company in Spartanburg. I have managed P&L's for multi million dollar companies and learned how to manage growth, control expenses and foster a culture of inclusion and forward thinking. I am a life long resident of Spartanburg and I know where it has been and I want to have a voice and be the voice of the residents in what it becomes.
I want to make sure that our infrastructure keeps pace with growth. Currently our roads, traffic patterns and street sightlines are unacceptable. I want to address further the issue of the homeless population in the city. We must have empathy for those who need a hand up but there also has to be a punitive aspect for those who refuse to be helped. Third, as a resident of the eastside i am concerned about the shift in traffic and safety in my neighborhood when the Jesse Boyd school is moved to the old McCracken site. I do not believe that the current street scan handle the additional traffic and the intersection of Fernwood/ Glendale and Weber Road are extremely unsafe now and I want to insure that this is addressed.
I believe the city council works well at this time, they offer a lot of transparency. At the end of the day the efficiency and success of this council comes down to the people who are on it.
