The School Board sets the policies, goals and objectives for the district and holds the superintendent responsible for implementing the policies and achieving the goals. I volunteered to fill a vacancy on the board in January. I was motivated to do so because I have two children in the school district and I have long held a deep passion for education. Over the past eight months of board membership I have come to greatly enjoy the experience. Our current board has a wonderful working relationship the superintendent and I would like to continue to be part of that. By running to fill the unexpired term of my seat on the board I will be able to continue to advance our current goals and help shape the future of our school district.
There are two main responsibilities of a school board. Number one is to ensure the best educational experience for all of our students. Number two is to ensure proper stewardship of our tax dollars through thorough and conscientious budgeting

1. Improve performance on state testing.
2. Ensure comprehensive learning and personal growth for all students.
3. Maintain an environment where children feel safe and are able to grow as young people.
These goals can be achieved with attention to curriculum development, benchmarking performance, and continued dialogue with our administration and teaching staff.
Integrity, commitment, and communication skills. The superintendent should have the trust of the parents, the teachers, and the students that they are working for. They should be committed to their chosen roll. They should be good communicators.
