Education
M.P.A. Columbus State University, M.S.F.E. Troy State University, Graduate Certificate Gerontology, University of South Carolina
Qualifications
My career experience includes my current position as the Department Chair for Criminal Justice at York Technical College, Prior faculty Troy University, Director eArmyU Troy University, Parole Officer Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole and Reserve Deputy Chattahoochee County Sheriff’s Office. I hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration Concentration Justice Admin. from Columbus State Univ., a Masters degree in Foundations of Education Concentration Criminal Justice from Troy University,
I have the energy, business experience, academic training, and desire to serve my community. I am convinced that I can make a difference in bridging the gap that currently exists among the members of council and the town leadership. There is no reason that Blythewood can't be a vibrant, productive, and model town in South Carolina. It starts with leadership and I believe the citizens did the right thing by changing the form of government from a mayor-council system to a council-manager system. Town managers are typically trained in organizational behavior, finance, planning and strategy. Our current leadership doesn't lead; our current leadership operates in a self-imposed silo.
I would begin with demonstrating my support to amend South Carolina law to introduce "concurrency programs." Citizens have vocalized concerns about rapid growth without having water and energy systems, hazardous waste management, and transportation addressed or in place prior to project completion. Traffic congestion is both a safety and quality of life issue.
I support creating more affordable housing but that development has to be responsibly planned and implemented.
I would also support a more active partnership with the S.C. Technical College system especially as it relates to first responder programs (turning out more EMT's and Paramedics) and workforce ready initiatives to support local industry.
I would first establish, in concert with standard hiring practices, a proper job description for the town manager. I would complete a salary study and identify qualifications preferred and qualifications necessary. I would make sure that the candidate valued the rapid changes in technology so as to improve workflow. I would ensure that a criminal background check was conducted as with most careers in the public sector. I would offer at least 2 meet and greet with citizens to gather feedback about priority issues. I would ask that the Town Manager stay on task, keep track of agenda items, maintain a consistent and reliable communication channel between council and citizens and have an open door policy as job duties permit.
Re-open Doko Park for evening events or for all events that were canceled due to security concerns. We each must understand that nothing can 100% guarantee our safety but we can do our due diligence to implement an evidence-based security plan. I have an evidence-based security plan and will present my plan to any local interested organization who reaches out to me. We can set the standard for other governments who struggle with this same issue across our nation.

Qualifications

Serving my community has always been at the heart of who I am. I am a husband, a father, a son, a retiree, and a public servant. Public Service has always been both a calling and a responsibility in my life. When the opportunity came to serve the town I have called home for several years, I reflected deeply before deciding. I realized that my life’s challenges, much like those faced by many others, were not obstacles but preparation. They have given me empathy, perspective, and determination. I believe those experiences prepared me to be a voice for people who may feel overlooked or unheard. Through me, they will always have both a presence and a voice in public office.
Managing rapid growth begins with listening. I would start by engaging residents and those who work in our town to fully understand their concerns, needs, and hopes for Blythewood. With that foundation, I would work to ensure that the necessary resources and critical infrastructure are in place to meet the demands of our changing demographics. Growth should never come at the expense of quality of life. Growth should strengthen our community and preserve what makes Blythewood a place we are proud to call home.
I believe the key to a smooth transition lies in education, communication, and transparency. I would work to ensure that residents are informed and understand what this new form of government means for them and for Blythewood’s future. If elected, I would have the honor of being among the first to serve under this structure, and I will commit to fairness, openness, and accountability every step of the way. Change is not always easy, but it does not have to be difficult when guided by trust and unity. My goal is to help Blythewood cross this bridge with confidence and a shared commitment to what serves our community best.
My top priority will always be the wellbeing of Blythewood’s residents. I want to ensure that our town remains safe, healthy, and vibrant as we grow. This means working hand in hand with elected leaders, community partners, and residents to strengthen the services and resources we need for long term sustainability. I will also bring my experience and skill set to fill gaps where needed, so Blythewood is not only prepared for growth but positioned to thrive in a way that reflects the values of our community.

Blythewood’s rapid growth brings both opportunity and responsibility. I will ensure development benefits residents by prioritizing roads, schools, public safety, and essential services. Growth must be smart and balanced: new businesses should contribute to infrastructure, support local jobs, and preserve the character of our neighborhoods. On the Planning Commission, I’ve worked directly with residents to evaluate impacts and make practical decisions. As Town Councilman, I will continue listening to families, addressing concerns, and ensuring our town remains safe, thriving, and strong for generations.
When elected, I will work closely with Blythewood’s future Town Manager to ensure a smooth transition to a council–manager government. My approach is guided by collaboration, accountability, and results. I've built strong relationships with our previous Town Administrators and will maintain open dialogue to address town matters efficiently with the next person in that role. By fostering cooperation between council and management, I will help Blythewood grow responsibly while protecting the values and quality of life our residents cherish.
My priorities are clear: ensure smart, balanced growth that benefits residents; keep our roads and infrastructure, public safety, and essential services on the discussion table; support local businesses and create opportunities for youth; and foster community connections that keep Blythewood a place where families thrive. I will approach each decision with discipline, accountability, and a focus on results, putting people first while safeguarding the town’s character and quality of life.
