This community has been very good to my family and myself over all the years we have lived here(since1973). I want to give back to my neighbors and community as much as I can . I promise all the decisions I make will be in the best interest of all of our citizens
We know where the problem areas are . We now have to find the best solution to the problem and then determine the cost of doing the steps needed to implement the plan. Once we accomplish that , we have to solve the issue of how we pay for it. It’s time to stop pointing fingers and take action ourselves to correct the problem. What we all have to remember is that this will be expensive and will not happen overnight .
Work with the comet to secure bus service from here to Columbia , and to secure a bus for local transport from that system
I will strive hard to get our council to work together so that we provide solutions to all of our problems . It is my opinion that this is the very first thing that we need to do. Once we achieve harmony , there is no reason that we can’t solve our issues together as one unified team!

I hadn’t planned to run for Mayor — I was focused on continuing my work as a councilman. But over the past several weeks, many residents from all walks of life asked me to consider running, saying they wanted another choice in the race. After thoughtful conversations with my family and time in prayer, I felt called to step forward. I care deeply about Batesburg-Leesville and believe we’re at a turning point. With the right leadership, we can face our challenges and plan wisely for the future. I’m running to listen, unite our community, and deliver results — not politics.
To address flooding and stormwater drainage issues, I’ll take a three-step approach. First, implement immediate mitigation—clear clogged drains, repair failing pipes, and upgrade undersized systems in high-risk areas. Second, thoroughly assess the problem by auditing existing infrastructure, using advanced flood modeling, and engaging the community for local input. Third, develop a long-term Capital Improvement Plan that prioritizes drainage upgrades, maps flood-prone areas, and pursues state and federal funding. Investing in infrastructure is essential for public safety, quality of life, and revitalizing our town center.
As the Council Member representing District 3 and a sitting member of the COMET Board, improving local public transportation is one of my top priorities. I recognize that access to reliable, affordable transit is essential for residents to reach jobs, schools, healthcare, and other vital services. To directly address local needs, I have submitted a proposal to the COMET Board and to my fellow council members to establish a circulator bus system that would serve as a convenient loop around our town. This system would operate using four buses running on consistent, accessible routes throughout the day. The goal is to make public transit more visible, frequent, and dependable for our citizens. Additionally, my proposal includes optional routes
In addition to supporting housing and jobs, I will prioritize improving infrastructure, expanding access to broadband, and supporting small businesses. Partnering with agencies like US Rural Development and the SC Housing Authority, I will help bring mixed-income housing for seniors and workers, while also encouraging workforce development programs to ensure our residents are prepared for quality, livable-wage jobs. Smart, sustainable growth is key to keeping our town vibrant and affordable for all.

After developing 2 buildings in the historic Batesburg District and being met with a lot of resistance by town officials and witnessing the growth at the western edge of Lexington County in which will have great impact on the growth inside Batesburg- Leesville, I decided we needed to be focused on growing our town thru new businesses and industry and secondarily by new housing.
If elected mayor, I would have constructive meetings with the town manager along with SCDOT to make at the very least a action plan moving forward to clear old drains and piping under our local streets and main roads
By developing a plan with any forms of Lexington county public transportation that could come to our end of the county
Besides addressing all the growth headed our way, top priority is our aging infrastructure along with developing a more modest and balanced budget that our town can operate on while furnishing our public safety and other departments with necessary resources to more effectively maintain our town in a superior way
