Slogan For Unity and Solutions
I am running because Old Bridge needs change. We need unity between the parents and the administration, and I feel that we have lost that. The children of this town are our future, and we need their education to be the best that we can make it for their future success. I raised two children, that were also part of the Old Bridge school system, as well as myself. I graduated from Madison Central High School. I know what our town needs for the children. I was also in radio for 17 years, I am a Safety and Preload Supervisor at UPS for the past 11 years. I am also a member of the Old Bridge Township Cultural Arts Committee, and I work with 4 animal rescues, and currently have three rescue dogs of my own. I am an excellent communicator, and I teach driver safety training at UPS. I have lived in Old Bridge for 57 years. I feel fully qualified to become a member of the Board of Education, with fresh and new ideas.
First, we need to apply for grants for education funds. I am focusing on education policies, eliminating ethics violations, book challenge issues, and parental rights policies. I am also concerned about student welfare, social media violations, and making sure that parental rights are fair and secure. I am planning on implementing them, and confronting them at the first board meeting, with support.
I feel that there is not enough funding from areas that we can get the funding from, such as state, and local grants. I will concentrate on getting these grants immediately. The most important part of the school budget is getting equipment, software programs, funding the sports and activities programs that are lacking for our children in the current budget. I am fully committed to making this happen with the support of the board members, the mayor, assembly, and parents of Old Bridge Township. I feel that the budget may need an adjustment, as to where the current funding is going, and where it is utilized.
All parents voices need to be heard, so I would listen to what each group was disagreeing about. I will list the pros and cons of each group, then, meet with these groups to work on a solution, and get unity with these groups to come together as a whole, making sure that everyone is satisfied with the outcome to their concern. I will have a solution to the issue that everyone will be happy with.
This is a very deep question, and we will cooperate with them to an extent. We need to protect our children and our families in this community. Protecting the children is first priority. In Old Bridge, the interaction with immigration is primarily defined by the township's past pushback against state-level policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement. This tension highlights a distinction between state directives and some local stances regarding the role of law enforcement.
I feel that we need more funding in these programs to enrich them. They are lacking in funding, and they need empowerment from the board and it's members to make these programs stand out in our community. I will file for grants, and get the funding that is needed.

I’m running because the district has not been direct and transparent with families, from policy, curricula, to budgeting concerns. My professional background has given me the advantage of being in high pressure situations while remaining grounded and emotionally intelligent. My personal background is that I’m a very objective person and see things from all sides-not just my own. It’s important to consider not just our students and faculty but families, stakeholders and tax payers. All of the above concerns have not been something to feel confident in and we had several faculty family members, without children in the system, pulling any political strings without challenge nor investigation. We are now broke and divided.
Long-range budgeting is my number one priority. Every year there are three new BOE members learning the system, slowing down valuable time. We can’t wait on the state to learn our funding fate-we have to be proactive and prepared in advance and look ahead. I want to take every cost, line by line, look into grants, vendors, and shared service agreements. I want to include the faculty in this process in case we need to make cuts. They are what makes the business work-they deserve a say! I want to request one of the two middle schools and the high school to reassess all children for learning loss from shutdowns-one middle school did this recently already. I want to look into the special education department and work on a support system to make both the faculty and families feel they are on the same team, seen and heard. This is a dream for me. I want weekly bulletins sent to families to review upcoming BOE agenda, meeting and committee subjects. I want realtime alerts announcing policy and budget items of importance on a realtime blast and I want BOE meetings announced on “The Bridge,” and more modern, digital sources.
We should be preserving our programs as best as fiscally possible. This may look like consumers paying for it as a shared service but this all depends on state funding. Right now we have increased taxes by millions to just preserve what we have. No. This is unacceptable. Again, involving parents and faculty members in this process is essential. We always want to maintain safety and security for our special needs community, knowing the student costs are more for them. This should never have to be a living fear in the minds of special needs parents and I feel this is the case. ALL children deserve equal education opportunities as best and safely as we can. I want parent university meetings to help accomplish this.
I’d like to offer parent university opportunities to sit and speak with parents with brainstorming ideas and to team bond. Then the BOE moves forward with prioritizing the strongest options worked on in the groups.
We have not been threatened by ICE in our community via schools.
Old Bridge is going a phenomenal job in the arts department. It’s important to keep them living and thriving. As much as we talk about special needs, I’d love to see the AP kids getting their needs addressed as well. We pay a lot in taxes and every child should have the resources to work at their highest potential.
