I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of South Carolina Upstate. I currently serve on Walhalla City Council. I have also served as Oconee County Probate Judge, Oconee County Council Member, Mayor of Walhalla and have served on Walhalla City Council in the past.
I vehemently supported the recent Annexation Ordinance the Mayor Council passed 6-1. Th Annexation Ordinance allows the City of Walhalla to grow a little bit at a time over time.
With new housing inside the City of Walhalla comes new tax revenue to hopefully keep up with increased need for services the City of Walhalla provides. With the increase in population comes new fees for recreation and the like. Grants for all departments are constantly sought after help with the bottom line.
Our aging water system is priority number one. The City of Walhalla currently has over $12 million in grants to replace water lines, some of which are 100 years old. We didn't get this way overnight and it won't be fixed tomorrow. Time and money will solve the problem.

The Depot aka Kauffman Park is in need of refurbishment, especially the koi ponds. Built around 1993, the cost to dig out the sediment out of the three ponds and replace the liners is in the $200,000 range.

I was on walhalla city council in 08 and 09. I have worked in city government and city utilities and for over 30 yrs.
I'm for updating the water lines. I'm against annexing. I'm against raising taxes in Walhalla
We need to hire a Grant Writer. The person would look for Grants only. Replace our water lines
All wasteful spending, take a look at the payroll, see just who is getting a check and why.
