Bio
Married to Debra Rothwell for over 30 years with two sons Kenneth and Cameron. Local Volunteer Firefighter for over 23 years. Today I own multiple funeral homes and have become the largest provider of funeral services on the East End of Long Island.
Experience
Current Town Councilman for the past 5 Years. A local business owner of The Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River. Through experience I have obtained over $50 Million Dollars in grant money for expanded town services.
As a successful businessman in the private sector I have brought a business module to governing. I have been in Town office for almost 5 years and during my term I have received over $50 million dollars of grant money for clean drinking water, sewage upgrades and expanded town park projects while deferring costs to taxpayers. I have expanded our Police Force lowering crime rates and providing expanded police services and response times for aided cases.
1- Revitalizing our Downtown Riverhead with the completion of a new town square while restoring economic development and creating a stronger tax base.
2- Complete the construction of a new Ambulance facility for Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance for rescue services.
3- Create high-tech jobs and development in the Calverton Industrial Core so that we may preserve more farmland and protect our agricultural heritage.
With the proposed development of Railroad Plaza more affordable housing units will become available to our Seniors, Veterans and First Responders as priority owners. In addition, I just passed legislation for a change of zoning to allow an affordable housing project with a new community center to move forward towards construction.
As a Town Councilman I enacted legislation for conservation efforts to decrease the usage of water by limiting irrigation times and requiring reduced flow shower systems. I recently passed legislation and we are currently building a 2.5 million gallon storage water tank in Wading River to fill on low demand times and build up water storage for high demand hours. For cleaner air, I began the Veterans Memorial Park Tree Planting project to honor local veterans and we have recently planted over 50 trees beatifying our parks and purifying the air we breath.
