I am a graduate of Mattituck High School, an alumni of Stony Brook University, and am currently raising my family in Southold Town.
Experience
I am a licensed insurance agent with over 10 years experience calculating the Replacement Cost of homes across Southold Town. My insurance experience and my strong service skills have prepared me to service in the Assessor's office.
I hold a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Stony Brook University, and have spent the past ten years working as an insurance agent for a local brokerage. I specialize in personal lines insurance, and calculate the Replacement Cost of homes across Southold Town on a regular basis. I understand how to apply a formula and assign a value to a property, and I also understand how to explain the determined value, how to answer questions, and how to assist clients with the process of submitting documentation for discounts or the claims process. These skills will serve me well when it comes to assisting residents with the exemption and grievance processes.
My first priority is to ensure that every resident and business owner receives the same level of service when they interact with the Assessors office. I also plan to ensure fairness by approaching every assessment the same way and following the same steps every time. I would also like to work with the other elected Assessors to try to expand the reach of notifications about exemptions and grievances.

I do feel that the town is providing fair and accurate assessed values to property owners, but I also feel that there is always room for improvement. I would like to work towards a more efficient assessment process, and help residents understand the process better, which would come from more community outreach and education.
