The most important issues are quality of life issues—taxes, infrastructure, sustainability/climate resiliency, government transparency, and community engagement. We must continue addressing urgent infrastructure needs like flood mitigation and modernizing our facilities. I’ve helped secure $7 million in grants over the last four years and led the formation of a resident-led committee to plan for the future of our facilities. I also led the creation of a streamlining committee to make the building permitting process more user-friendly. Fiscal responsibility is key—I’ve delivered four budgets within the tax cap while maintaining services. As a Climate Smart Silver community, we’ve advanced sustainability and are focused on protecting the Irvington Woods. I’ve worked to enhance safety, support local events, and make Irvington inclusive for all. The community we choose to build is one that is fiscally responsible, sustainable, and welcoming.

The Village needs to successfully address its infrastructure needs. The Village recently faced a failed bond issuance due to lack of consensus, which my opponent supported. While on the Board of Education, I led the effort to gain community consensus and successfully pass a bond to rehabilitate Meszaros and East Fields. Two previous bond proposals had failed in community votes. The rehabilitated fields have stood the test of time to the benefit of our children. Many Irvington residents, as well as architectural and building professionals who service the property owners in Irvington, are dissatisfied with the approvals process for construction projects. In particular, they are frustrated by the role that our Buildings Department, Planning Board and Architectural Review Board play in that process.

For 30 years, I have practiced real estate finance and development law. I am uniquely suited to bring my work experience to finally address the above issues.
