"My extensive background in sales, marketing, management, and training has equipped me with the skills necessary to collaborate effectively across various organizational levels and to understand the diverse needs of all people from different socioeconomic backgrounds. I possess proven abilities in fostering team cohesion and building collaborative working relationships. Additionally, I have demonstrated success in engaging key decision-makers and stakeholders, and have cultivated relationships with various advisors to advance strategic objectives."
I envision a city with more cultural events, higher paying industries and more unique shops that can't be found locally. I plan on revitalizing the downtown with facelifts on all of the buildings and food hubs centrally located. We will utilize the stage in the City Park with musicians of different genres for families to come out enjoy along with food trucks. The old Outlet centers will be called Center City to get away from days gone by there.
First, I'll prioritize attracting businesses that align with our community values - companies that offer good-paying jobs and contribute positively to our neighborhoods. I'll be selective about development and ensure new businesses complement our existing character of our small town feel. Second, I'll invest in quality of life improvements - using increased tax revenue from responsible development to enhance parks, improve infrastructure, support local schools, and maintain the small-town atmosphere that makes Boaz special. Third, I'll establish a business incubator to bring unique businesses into Boaz with an Economic Advisor who's job will be to focus on industries with higher paying jobs that blends the community.
I would analyze expenses we currently have and see where there could be cuts and use that money more efficiently. With more money freed up, we could lure more businesses into Boaz with more incentives. I want to sell some of the buildings that the city currently owns that competes with our other business owners to free up more money for paving, paying down debt and pay our teachers more since they are the lowest paid in the county. I think our elderly and homebound citizens need city transportation to take them to shop or doctor's appointments. We need to have more activities that bring our citizens together and young people have something to do inside our city instead of going to other cities to spend their money.
All City Council meetings will be live-streamed with archived recordings available online, ensuring homebound residents, working families, and anyone unable to attend in person can stay informed about municipal decisions affecting their community. I'll establish regular digital updates through social media platforms and the city website, providing clear, timely information about ongoing projects, upcoming initiatives, and development discussions. This includes quarterly live-streamed "State of the City" addresses where I'll report on progress, upcoming priorities, and answer citizen questions in real-time. Democracy works best when everyone can participate and technology allows us to break down barriers that have prevented input.
I will revamp the city website to make it more user friendly and have all city government services listed under tabs with all information about those services. These services will also be listed on the City Facebook page.
