Lambertville City Council {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

Lambertville is the only city in Hunterdon County, and describes itself as one of the smallest cities in the United States. It is governed within the Faulkner Act (formally known as the Optional Municipal charter Law) under the Small Municipality form of government (Plan C), which is available only for municipalities with a population of under 12,000. The government is comprised of the mayor and the four-member city council, with all positions elected at-large on a partisan basis in the November general elections. The mayor is elected directly by the voters to a three-year term of office. Council members serve a term of three years, which are staggered so that two seats come up for election in two years in a three-year cycle, with the mayoral election in the third year.The mayor exercises executive power; presides over the council with voice and vote, but has no veto power; appoints council committees; appoints the municipal clerk, attorney, tax assessor, tax collector and treasurer, all with council confirmation. The council exercises legislative power and approves the mayor s appointees.

If elected, what issue will you focus on during your three-year term and how do you propose to address it?

What are the principal responsibilities of members of a municipal governing board?

What role should local law enforcement play in activity conducted within our municipality by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service (ICE)?

I have worked in government for much of my career. I served in state government in the areas of Environmental Protection, Community Affairs and the State executive offices. I now work as a consultant in both legislative and state government affairs. This experience is of great benefit when undertaking the role of city council member. I am on the ballot for a second term in my city council seat.
I am working on a number of projects: a new pedestrian safety plan, undertake a process to update our master plan and zoning ordinances, and develop a plan to modernize our city stormwater-as a major focus. I am concerned about providing a government that serves our neighbors with their daily needs as well as delivering the best services we can to put people first.
To best serve the community in every deliberation and decision we undertake. I also believe in the importance of local community service and fostering unity in my city.
