Over development, transparency highlights a growing divide between city growth and community needs. Officials celebrate progress, many residents see over-development of rentals, the loss of public land, and a lack of transparency eroding trust. The city’s heavy focus on rental units favors short-term residents, neglecting ownership options condos and co-ops that foster stability and long-term community investment. Families are unable to find suitable housing, limiting generational growth. Selling public land, for private gain removes shared assets and raises concerns about misplaced priorities. Showing 3,000 new units housing only 130 children reveal a mismatch with family needs, undermining true family affordability. Most concerning is the absence of transparent, third-party oversight in approvals, leaving taxpayers doubtful. Officials must prioritize openness, ethical stewardship, and housing strategies that serve all citizens not just the few. While the taxpayers pick up the tab!
