The most pressing issues in District 8 and across Westchester are affordability, housing, and health. Families are strained by rising costs, limited child care, and the lack of sufficient affordable housing. The County is already investing significantly in new affordable housing projects, and we must continue that momentum. But since towns and cities determine the set-aside percentages in developments, I strongly encourage them to increase those requirements so more families benefit. Equally critical are public health and mental health, where we must build out systems of care, expand crisis response, and protect our most vulnerable. Fiscal responsibility underpins all of this — balancing key investments with prudent budgeting so taxpayers are protected while communities still thrive. My priority is ensuring every resident can live, work, and raise their family here with dignity and security.
