Fiscal transparency and accountability.
For eight consecutive years, the Town has filed its annual financial statements late, and a recent State audit identified serious control and compliance weaknesses. This is not a paperwork lapse, it exposes residents to higher costs, erodes trust, and prevents the Town from building a credible, cost-effective capital plan that keeps projects on time and on budget.
This year, voters will choose a Supervisor and two Town Board members. The Supervisor is the Town’s chief executive and chief fiscal officer, responsible for the books, the budget, and the capital program. If you’re not satisfied with how fiscal matters have been handled over the past eight years, consider John McCown’s deep private-sector finance experience and record of leading organizations through change.
