Experience (300 characters max) It has been an honor to serve my community on the Snohomish County Council for the past five years. As a Councilmember, lifelong County resident and a dad raising four young kids, I know how important it is that we build a county that’s affordable, safe, and built to last.
Affordability- housing and childcare primarily Youth Development Public Safety
What are legally required governmental functions versus what are the “nice to have” programs and what reductions in programming can we make to cut costs before considering any personal cuts
Encourage missing middle and starter home style housing to attract new families to lay roots here. Support a robust public safety system so people and small businesses feel safe to shop and do business. Provide training, networking and support for new business owners to be successful.
Continue to do great long term planning. Our county has won statewide awards for how well we do our long term infrastructure planning because we have a dedicated and experienced team of engineers who recognize the growth and know we have to strategically plan for the growing pains decades in advance
We have an Office of Social Justice with committed staff who are working alongside council to establish goals and measurable outcomes we can use to guide our DEI work. We must continue to encourage that effort and proactively invite input from community groups in our work
