I was elected in 2021 to position 1 on the Renton City Council and am currently in the 4th year of my first term. I'm currently the City Council President running for re-election. I'm also currently Chair of the Governance Board for the Renton Regional Fire Authority.
Through door-to-door canvassing to learn about the current concerns of Renton residents. Having this personal, direct contact helps me stay in touch with present day issues and allows the residents to be more familiar with who I am and what I will bring to the city in this elected position.
Every city's role should be that of making responsible decisions that take into account all potential environmental impacts. The effort to minimize impacts where possible should always be present. Additionally, a city's business plan should specifically address key initiatives toward environmental stewardship.

The response needs to be a comprehensive program that involves active outreach, addiction treatment, mental health services, case management, job training, transitional housing, and housing placement. To be fully successful, all aspects of a program like this must be overseen and administered by one organization, rather than many separate entities addressing limited aspects of the problem in a non-coordinated manner. The city's role is to identify or help create a program of this manner.
My vision of the city is one where a clear pathway exists for the homeless to effectively reintegrate into society. It is also a city where economic opportunity thrives in every way. Businesses of all types establish themselves here and provide high-quality employment for residents. Job and skills training are readily accessible through key programs so that residents can take accountability and ownership in elevating themselves economically. The city has sufficient housing options for all income levels and continually improves upon all aspects of city services, including transit options, parks and recreation, and community engagement. Finally, I have a vision of a safe city where crime is kept to a minimum and those who commit crimes are held accountable for their actions and dealt with accordingly.
