Experience (300 characters max) Have been trying to work with the city government and Aberdeen Police Department for approximately 5 years to make it safer and better in the city of Aberdeen WA.
I like the town hall meetings that the City of Aberdeen has started with the wards and both council members from each ward and to have my email and phone number so that the people from my ward can get ahold of me when needed or they want.
the city of Aberdeen should be looking out for the citizens and wildlife and do what is in the best interest of all concerned and not just for the money.
I have tried to work with local businesses to help make a safer city and to get the crime under control alongside the Aberdeen Police department. I have worked in the community as a volunteer.
need to do more research on the areas that the city is looking at to build low-income housing before deciding on a site. talk to the homeless or unhoused to see what they are interested in for assistance and treat them with the respect they deserve.
I remember the city when I was 9 and 10 years old and how the city used to look out for each other and help each other, The citizens felt safe here and crime and unhoused was lower numbers and I feel that the city can and needs to get back to those times again to thrive.

As a City Council member, I plan to engage with the citizens of our city through active listening, transparent communication, and consistent community presence. I will attend regular town hall meetings, participate in local events, and maintain open channels—both in-person and online—for residents to share their concerns, ideas, and feedback. My goal is to build trust and collaboration by being accessible, responsive, and genuinely invested in the well-being of every member of our community."
"Our city has a responsibility to lead by example when it comes to environmental issues. That means promoting sustainable practices, investing in green infrastructure, and protecting our natural resources for future generations. We should work to reduce pollution, improve energy efficiency in public buildings, and support community initiatives like clean-up efforts, recycling programs, and urban greening. Partnering with local businesses, schools, and residents is essential—we all have a role to play. Environmental stewardship isn’t just good for the planet—it’s good for public health, the economy, and the overall quality of life in our community."
"I have a long-standing commitment to public service through volunteer work across several vital areas in our community. I volunteered for many years at the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, helping preserve and share our local heritage. I’ve also dedicated time to supporting youth programs through multiple churches, contributing to the growth and well-being of our younger generation. Additionally, I used to cook at the Mission for the Homeless, providing meals and a sense of dignity to those in need. These experiences have deepened my understanding of our city’s needs and strengthened my desire to serve in a greater capacity."
"Our city must take a proactive, compassionate, and coordinated approach to homelessness. This means not only addressing the immediate need for shelter, food, and safety, but also tackling the root causes—such as mental health challenges, addiction, lack of affordable housing, and unemployment. We should work closely with local nonprofits, service providers, and state agencies to create transitional housing opportunities, expand access to supportive services, and invest in long-term solutions like affordable housing development and job training programs. Criminalizing homelessness is not the answer—treating people with dignity and providing pathways to stability is how we build a stronger, healthier community for everyone."
"My vision for Aberdeen is rooted in the belief that we are a city overflowing with untapped potential. We have natural beauty, rich history, and a sustainable economic foundation that many places would envy. Yet too often, that potential is overlooked—even by those who live here. I see Aberdeen as a place where community can thrive, where tourism can grow without sacrificing our character, and where our natural resources can be managed wisely to create long-term opportunity. With the right leadership and a fresh approach, we can shine a light on what makes Aberdeen special—and finally turn that potential into progress."
