Town where you live Prosser
Experience (300 characters max) I moved to the Prosser area 5 yrs ago and really wanted to see this beautiful community thrive. I would like to use my leadership collaborative experience to aid and assist City Council members to help revitalized Historical Prosser.
Prosser has City Council meetings 3x a month, for the past 18 months. I joined the Prosser Rotary Club and when invited I attend Chamber of Commerce community meetings and talk with folks who attend. Some of the members that attend are not Chamber of Commerce staff. I have also attended Senior Citizen monthly meetings, listened to open discussion on ideas on what is needed for future fund-raising. Addressing ideas on how to meet additional needs of the current senior residents here in Prosser. Areas of Discussion with Seniors is, Food shortages, Transportation, and Clothing
Currently in Prosser there are a lot of ideas on the table with the understanding that Washington State Conservation Community Programs is "Leave No Trace Spotlight" Look for programs that provide opportunities for the community outreach and volunteer stewardship.

Locally here in Prosser is to plant trees along major streets, including our historical downtown area.

Make ecological considerations, particular trees to be included as part of the road improvement as required. Provide shading to improve the city's walkable and bike friendly routes

Create a Citizens Advisory Committee to develop street improvement as a prioritization schedule. Keeping safety in mind for walkability and biking.

Its just a start.
When I was living in the greater Seattle area I volunteered for the Catholic Chores services and the National Aides Foundation. This is where individuals of the greater Seattle community would assist people in need. Taking community members to medical appointments, picking up medications, grocery shop, minor house cleaning, laundry, fixing meals etc. I worked with Baily Coy (team lead) in our community. This was very rewarding volunteer work and a great team that I had the honor to work with.
Currently in Prosser we do not have a large homelessness population, however it is starting to become visible in our community. Discussion have been on-going in City Council however the size of our community does not have a lot of resources such as facilities to treat Mental health, drug and alcohol additions. The city is looking into programs that enhance and provide physical and mental health care and work to increase access to such services. Since Prosser is in Benton County, a sister city "Tri- Cities" has facilities that are better suited to aid in these situations currently.

City Council is looking in the pathways in investing in early prevention services and programs. I hope to part of the solution in addressing the community concerns.
The Vision: Small Town Community - To meet community expectations for services, provide a vision for improvements, and continue to strengthen and diversify Prosser's economic vitality and sustainability.

Goals are Livability & Quality of Life- Sustain and improve the City's Livability and Quality of Life.

Safe Community - enhance and support proactive and alternative community policing efforts and partnerships. Invest in early prevention services and programs.

A Healthy Community - Promote programs that enhance and provide physical and mental health care, work toward increase access to such services

All of the above is only a glimpse of what I believe. The current Mayor and City Council are looking into making this community vibrant and sustain the gains as we partner with the community stakeholders to achieve the goals Prosser community is expecting.

I would like to be part of the solution. I hope to help achieve the goals if given the honor to serve on Prosser City Council.
