Chaos coming from the federal government is causing tremendous anxiety for everyone, but particularly those who rely on federal public safety nets and other federal programs, like older adults, immigrants, and working families.

High cost of housing, childcare, utilities and other household needs is making it difficult to afford raising a family in Southern Brooklyn.

Small businesses, especially those with community and historic value, are struggling to compete against large chain stores, and are often hindered by city bureaucracy. This is leading to many vacancies on our commercial avenues, high turnover, and the closing of many beloved businesses.

Run an efficient and effective council office that understands how to address the needs of our diverse district in an ever changing landscape.

Fight for a city budget that includes funding for universal childcare, and housing construction for working and middle class families and older adults.

Work diligently to help small business owners navigate City rules, and eliminate needless barriers to their success.
Filling my office with effective staff that have a deep understanding of the district's needs, and who can help me fight for a City budget that addresses the growing costs of my constituents.

Building a coalition on the city and state level to fight for universal childcare.
A universal childcare program to address the biggest cost facing new families in my district.
10% of the city’s budget comes from the federal government. The Trump administration has made its disdain for New York and its public programs clear. It will be a challenge to sustain our current funding levels of essential programs, let alone introduce a new, fairly large and expensive program such as universal childcare. No single elected official will create or achieve this, and it will take an all-hands on deck approach on the city and state level to get this done.
