I’ve worked for more than a decade on issues rooted in justice. From racial justice and fighting against anti-Black racism, for clean air and water, voting rights, public safety, human rights, LGBTQ rights, minimum wage, paid leave, and more.
As former Detroit Charter Revision Commissioner, I worked with stakeholders in the community and in government to help craft an inclusive proposed city charter that attempted to make the city of Detroit a more equitable and just city.
I've also worked as a communications and political director in Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib's office. I have experience and relationships on all levels of government to serve.
I have the experience of organizing, advocating, and working in government to affect change.
Ensuring that all of our residents receive basic city services, and that our tax dollars and city resources address the needs of our district and residents.
Improving public safety by investing in preventative measures, community violence intervention programs and mental health services.
Fighting for truly affordable housing, increasing home ownership, advocating for residents’ rights, and pushing back against those who try to take advantage of homeowners and tenants.
Advocating for an equitable and reliable public transit system.
Strengthening our climate-resilient infrastructure to combat flooding and damage caused by climate change. Fighting for clean air, drinking water, and land for all.

My qualifications for a seat on the Detroit City Council are an array of experiences. Some of my qualifying skills have been obtained through operations, owning businesses, managing large budgets, contracts, and community services. I was the first elected Community Advisory Council President in Detroit. As a CAC member, I had the opportunity to work with the Mayor, City Council members, and, District Managers. Before that, I learned priceless knowledge of city council from my in-term ship as a young democrat with Councilmen Gil Hill and Cylde Cleveland. My experience spans education, community service, political advocacy, empowering, individuals and communities. I have held positions on the 13th District Executive Board.
My three top priorities are Job Development; Safe Neighborhoods; and Affordable Housing.
