What personal qualities do you have that make you particularly suited to be a judge?
What makes you qualified to handle both criminal and civil matters as a Common Pleas Judge?
Occupation
Legal/Ethics Counsel, Pennsylvania House of Representatives
Education
Temple University, BA Criminal Justice (Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude), Villanova University School of Law
As a lawyer and a working mom, I have had success because of my compassion, empathy and ability to balance competing demands. I know the importance of having a judicial system that works for everyone and I have what it takes to make the tough decisions that have long term consequences. As a judge I will maintain high ethical standards, prioritize adherence to the rule of law, and reject any attempt at outside influence.
I am qualified to handle criminal and civil matters because I have litigation and legislative experience in both. I have defended individuals and businesses in civil trials, I have prosecuted individuals and businesses in administrative courts on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and I have prepared briefs and argued in the appellate courts. My experience in the legislature, where I help to implement public policy into law, gives me a unique and helpful perspective on the foundations of civil and criminal laws.
