I support all three amendments.
Everyone deserves the freedom to marry. The current ban is discriminatory and has no place in our constitution. We must secure this right in Virginia, especially to safeguard against potential federal reversals. Without this amendment, a federal backsliding on the issue would trigger our state ban to snap back into effect, denying the legal union of loving couples.
Access to abortion is a fundamental healthcare right. The government shouldn't interfere with personal medical decisions. This is about protecting individual autonomy.
People deserve a second chance. Once someone has served their time, their full rights should be restored. The right to vote is fundamental and shouldn't be treated as a privilege.
Based upon the 2023 JLARC Study, my recommendations would focus on the following. Restore K-12 funding to at least pre-recession (2008) levels, adjusted for inflation. Refine the SOQ formula to better enable larger divisions, such as Chesapeake and Suffolk, to adequately fund essential support staff, including teacher assistants, social workers, school psychologists, and guidance counselors. Revise funding formulas to ensure livable teacher and staff wages across all school districts.
Creating economic security in our district by increasing wages while lowering costs. I support raising the minimum wage to no less than $17/hr (indexed to inflation and productivity) and strengthening unions by repealing "right-to-work" laws to empower collective bargaining. Unions built the middle class, and we must restore their power to uplift workers.
I'll push to replace the grocery tax with a luxury goods tax, to make essentials more affordable. We can address housing costs by streamlining permitting for starter homes, incentivizing their construction to increase supply, and restricting private equity speculation to curb artificial price inflation. Finally, we must cap runaway prescription drug costs, particularly for insulin.
Voter disenfranchisement is currently the biggest obstacle to fair elections. I will champion policies to safeguard every citizen's right to vote. This includes preventing the loss of voting rights for individuals awaiting trial, constitutionally guaranteeing automatic rights restoration for felons who have completed their sentences, broadening acceptable identification to include private IDs recognized by the Commonwealth, stopping unlawful voter purges, and implementing automatic voter registration.

I support all three constitutional amendments because they reflect basic fairness and freedom. Everyone who’s served their time deserves a second chance and a voice in our democracy. Reproductive decisions belong to individuals and their doctors, not politicians and must be protected in our constitution. And love is love, every adult should have the right to marry who they love. These amendments are about dignity, equality, and treating people with the respect they deserve.
Invest in and retain great teachers by offering competitive pay and benefits, along with strong mentorship and professional development opportunities. Teachers are the backbone of our education system, and they deserve the support necessary to succeed.
Expand student support services by hiring more school counselors, instructional assistants, and tutors. This will help address critical student needs and work to close persistent achievement gaps. I believe the key is to start early if we want to close performance gaps for good. That is done through expanding access to high-quality early intervention services, and summer learning programs, ensuring that support for higher-needs students starts before they fall behind.
One of the first legislative priorities is to establish a true family‑first economy that puts working people at the center of every decision by lowering the cost of living, raising wages, expanding access to affordable childcare, and investing in workforce development.
Another priority is to enact common‑sense, bipartisan gun‑safety measures that save lives while respecting lawful firearm ownership.
I'll push legislation aimed at fully funding and modernizing our public‑school system so every child, regardless of ZIP code, has access to high‑quality education and support services.
Virginia remains one of the few states where individuals with felony convictions do not automatically regain their voting rights upon completing their sentences. Instead, they must petition the governor for restoration, a process that can be opaque and inconsistent.
Virginia law permits individuals to challenge the eligibility of voters at polling places during in-person voting. While there are legal safeguards against frivolous challenges, the mere possibility can intimidate voters, particularly those from marginalized communities. Such challenges can lead to confusion and deter individuals from casting their ballots.
