What in your background qualifies you to serve as a member of the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council?
What are the most pressing issues facing the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council?
What are the citizens in Fair Oaks Ranch telling you about city issues?
My business background and 10 years of consecutive volunteer service to our city have prepared me to be the best-qualified candidate to represent you on City Council. I served on the committee that wrote our City Charter. This was required to move us from being a General Law city where the state sets all the rules to a Home Rule Chartered City where citizens make the rules about how to manage our city. I was appointed by the City Council as a member of the very 1st Planning & Zoning Commission and reappointed 2 additional terms by City Council.
I will protect the unique quality of life we have in Fair Oaks Ranch by managing our growth in a responsible manner. Anyone who is knowledgeable and who is being honest with you will tell you that no one can halt all growth. However, we do have the ability to manage the City growth in a responsible manner. I have the
proven skill sets to effectively deal with developers who want to work in our City and to make sure that your interests are represented responsibly in our future growth.
Since becoming a Home Rule City, we continue to grow, prosper, and be fiscally responsible. The majority of residents I’ve listened to are pleased with city services and the responsible manner in which Council and staff have conducted the business of the city. We’re a growing city and our growth will continue to be a top-of-mind,
high priority issue. Citizens want to maintain our unique Hill Country residential and ranch lifestyle and sense of community. This is all accomplished via our city council planning, budgeting, debating, and listening to residents.
I have been a resident of Fair Oaks Ranch for 17 years and am very familiar with past and present city policies. I believe that I have the patience and negotiation skills necessary to move the city forward.
There are several pressing issues. Controversy surrounding the funding, location, and general need of the proposed Civic Center; Funding and prioritizing the infrastructure needs, especially roads; Traffic flow and speed limits; Office space for additional staffing; Securing future water sustainability for Fair Oaks Ranch; Reviewing and updating the Home Rule Charter; Does Fair Oaks need better fire protection
Citizens are telling me that they want to have more input and information in how and why City Council is making “major” decisions which involve significant tax dollars and/or city policy.
