Economic challenges and uncertainty are the most important challenges facing our area. Prices are rising, jobs are in flux, and a lot of us struggle to make ends meet. As Treasurer, I don’t want us to just seize, lien, and garnish; I want us to engage, educate, and elevate our community by: -Bringing services and resources directly to the community via a Mobile Treasurer’s Office and community pop-ups -Hosting free financial literacy workshops and establishing a Financial Empowerment Center -Modernizing the Treasurer’s Office by launching a mobile app to make payments and access resources As Treasurer, I don’t want to just count and collect our city’s money, I want to care about what our community is investing in and fortify Newport News.

From the community’s perspective the largest challenges are rooted in efficiency, customers service, civic engagement, and lack of communication. For far too long, the treasurer’s office has been “out of sight, out of mind”. My goal is to change that, connecting the community directly to the Treasurer’s Office. I understand that public service is purely about service to people. As a business owner who also holds a dual degree in Psychology and Business Management, I am equipped with technical proficiency and experience to successfully manage the Treasurer’s Office, however, I am first and foremost public service minded. Rooted in Newport News, I am personally invested in the in the success of my city.
