What are the most important challenges facing our area and how do you propose to address them?
With this year's budget projected to have an estimated $3.5 million deficit, one of the biggest challenges facing county taxpayers next year is balancing the budget without raising taxes. The only way is by attracting new revenue streams to the county so that the burden doesn't fall on the taxpayer. Another approach is to use a Zero-Based Budget, where every expense must be justified and approved.
I also want to bring better Transparency to the Board of Supervisors. "As your elected representative, I pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. I will work tirelessly to foster public trust in our system by providing clear and timely information about government decisions and actions.
