As a local Bucks County resident and mother of 3 Council Rock graduates I feel strongly about the value of our public schools for the education that is afforded children as well as the future of this community. Our public education system is at the heart of the promises we make to our citizens and nation as a whole. I believe all children deserve access to the benefits of a good education and the structure that provides additional assistance many need due to the uniqueness of each child. As a former teacher I respect the challenges of being in education as well as the importance of parental input for both the educational process and benefit of the children. If elected I would be honored to be a voice for children, families, teachers.
I have followed the meetings online and am learning about the process and ongoing issues of school boards that are being discussed in general and specifically for Council Rock. I am dedicated to being an advocate for our strong school system and community and excited to have the chance to gain your trust from the outset. I will work hard and learn!
In terms of my qualifications for School board director in addition to having seen our 3 children navigate our school system and succeed, and having personally worked as a teacher, I have been a managing partner of our medical practice when it was physician-owned and have become familiar with some of the issues involved in running a business/organization. One of the most important things I learned is that though we not all agree on everything, there are ways to come to a consensus that allow all to feel heard and respected. I want to facilitate that in our community and help all to feel part of the process if they desire.
