Education
I obtained a BS in Education from Indiana University of PA and, later, an MS in Counseling from Villanova University.
Experience
I worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer for fourteen years. In 1986 I made a career change and spent the next twenty nine years working in the telecommunications industry. I retired from Verizon in 2015.
Sellersville is still recovering from the loss of our largest employer, Ametek US Gauge, which closed in 2008. Revitalizing our downtown business district and attracting new business has been a priority for as long as I have been on council. Sellersville is an old town, and dealing with an aging infrastructure, as well as addressing periodic flooding resulting from climate change and storm water run-off, are also at the top of our list of priorities. All of these issues carry large price tags. With a revenue base that relies heavily on resident taxes, searching for and winning grant awards is critical. Also, some issues such as flooding, must be addressed regionally. Partnering with surrounding municipalities is essential. Finally, with a small office staff and a smaller public works department, attracting citizen volunteers to help with the long list endeavors needing to be addressed is extremely important.
My wife and I have lived in Sellersville now for almost 50 years. It has been good to us and our family and I feel the strong need to give something back to the community in which I raised my family. I have served on Sellersville Borough Council for almost eight years. During that time I have learned much about how local and state government operates. But in those same eight years I have also served on the Parks and Recreation committee, the West Rockhill-Sellersville Joint Recreation Authority, the Industrial Development Authority, and the Sesquicentennial Committee. I have also worked as a volunteer at the Sellersville Museum. Through all of this, I have come to a clear understanding of what is needed in Sellersville, and the challenges and opportunities involved in meeting those needs. I have found that serving the citizens of Sellersville to be a rewarding endeavor, and I would like the opportunity continue the work I began eight years ago.
Working as a Juvenile Probation Officer many years ago, I learned how to listen to people non-judgmentally, and to be able to empathize with how they saw the world. As an engineer in the field of telecommunications I learned that, if you understood the problem, and if you understood the resources that could be brought to bear, most problems had a solution. Over the past eight years on Borough Council and in my service on the various committees, I have learned this is a strong, resilient community with a long, and proud history. I've seen, up close, the many "gems" which contribute so much to the community - such as the Sellersville Museum and Holiday House Pool. And I've been able to confirm that the Sellersville citizens of today are no different from my generation. They are looking for a way to realize the American Dream. They want their children to be better off than they were. I have learned that the issues that confront Sellersville are formidable but they can be solved.

Experience
Over 20 years experience serving on Sellersville Borough Council; President for 8 years; attended various trainings sponsored by Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs; Currently SAP supervisor for Council of Southeast PA; also private practice counseling
The most important issues facing my community are an aging infrastructure, limited tax base, and fiscal responsibility to our constituents. These issues can best be addressed by taking advantage of all available governmental programs, including grants and loans; encouraging the growth of local business and industry; and strategic planning for the improvement and/or replacement of the infrastructure based on projected tax revenues.
I have lived in this community for over 50 years, and raised my family here. I believe Sellersville Borough is a special place, and I want to preserve its resources and charm for the future, so other families can take advantage of its unique small town environment. I feel a sense of responsibility to give back to this community, and there is no better way to do that than to volunteer my time to the decision-making body of the Borough.
My education and professional experience assist me in my interactions with the residents, which I value highly. We want to be responsive to our residents to the extent possible. My 20 years of experience on Council has resulted in a wealth of knowledge about municipal laws, restrictions, and mandates, as well as an ongoing familiarity with the current issues and challenges facing the Borough.

Experience
Active member of borough council for eight years.
Our community thrives when people have access to good jobs, affordable housing, and a great education. We must ensure that every dollar of our hard earned tax dollar is put to good use. One way is to encourage the development of housing on available lots, and also remediate other properties to make them available for development.
I have deep roots in the area and have lived in Sellersville for 35 years. I want to ensure that our family, friends, and neighbors have a council person who understands them and has their best interests at heart. The position should never be political or partisan but should serve everyone.
I have a background in taxation, finance, and regulatory which, gives me some expertise in the borough's finances and the rules and regulations involved in zoning, building and governance. In addition, I was a owner operator of a small business for seventeen years, which gives me the perspective of an entrepreneur. I understand what we need to do to attract and support other small businesses.
I have seven years experience serving on borough council, and I want to continue in my quest to improve our borough for all the residents.
