I have been honored to serve as the Delaware County Controller for almost 8 years, having been elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. I have been an independent voice for our residents and taxpayers. We are term limited in Delco and I am therefore running for a seat on County Council to continue my work. As the manager of an operating department, I am responsible for payroll, accounts payable, the retirement fund, auditing and accounting. Each year I have won national awards for excellence in financial reporting. I created new programs for reporting waste and to return unclaimed funds. I serve on the Jail Oversight Bd., the Retirement Bd. and Convention Center Bd. I am an accomplished attorney with strong government experience.
I ran with my colleagues in 2017 to bring transparency to County government and we did just that. I put records and audits on line for the public. Meetings were recorded and minutes and agendas available. I have spent the past 8 years making sure that all contracts and payments have been properly authorized. Best practices for purchasing have been implemented. I am always available to the public and responsive to help. I set the tone by example and my work in the Controller's office is indicative of the commitment I have made to transparency and fairness.
1. Use our tax dollars wisely and improve operations where feasible to save money. Create a budget that reflects the priorities of our residents to deliver the services our residents need and want.
2. Expand our tax base by focusing on redevelopment opportunities for housing and businesses to grow our work force.
3. Use every tool available to the County to keep its residents safe and healthy and to protect our local resources. I will work to keep Delaware County a great place to live and raise a family.
