Hallettsville is a failed city that requires REVITALIZATION. Yes, I did say FAILED. If you’ve been watching, the city has been in a steady decline losing business. Many were restaurants leaving only Mexican food restaurants. It’s a SHAME. You have to go to Moulton, Schulenburg, Shiner or Victoria for a sit-down restaurant meal that is not Mexican food. The city says WE CAN’T CONTROL THAT. That is a LIE. The city must provide the vital infrastructure and people for business to operate.
As a lifelong resident of Hallettsville, I have seen the better times and what’s going on now and know that someone has to change what the CITY IS FAILING ON. My second qualification is I have 30 years working for state and federal agencies and know how to work within the system to GET THINGS DONE!
Third, I have successfully operated 5 businesses with revenue that would be comparable to the city budget. In both my private businesses and state and federal work I have managed staff.
They are very aware of the CITY’S IMPENDING DEMISE and are concerned about it being too late to save the city. My answer to them is always what are you willing to do in removing the current problem with the city council? Are you willing to run for a place on the city council? Are you willing to approach each city council person and push for change? Are you willing to support a new mayor to get things going? YOU NEED TO BE WILLING TO DO ALL THESE THINGS TO SEE CHANGE!
