I have five years’ experience in this position. I previously was a committee person and have been a member of the DT Democratic Committee for over 18 years. I retired from 23 years of teaching Civics, History, GED, and Career and Life Skills counseling. My active memberships in several civic and Veterans groups have provided insight and valuable organizational experience. My present managerial position in Workforce Development has afforded me the opportunity to help people make good choices as they start new or invigorate their careers and put themselves on the path to a sustainable lifestyle.

To strengthen public trust in local government, I will continue to encourage residents to come out to public meetings to hear what is happening firsthand and not rely on rumors and half-truths. I always try to respond and direct constituents to the best place to get information and assistance. It may sometimes be the county or state government that can assist them more efficiently. I have been the co-sponsor of two Town Hall meetings. Scheduling quarterly Town Hall meetings if there is interest would be a top priority. The most important customer service/public service skill is listening to learn. It is a skill that I continue to work on to be a better elected official.

My top three priorities are. Keeping our residents safe in their homes and in their neighborhoods. Increasing the tax base to relieve the tax burden. Making the quality of life better by improving parks, building a library, and providing recreation for all ages.
