I am a former government employee and currently work as a liability attorney. I go over things with a fine tooth comb to make sure the best outcome is reached in tricky situations. With government systems continuing to change on an almost daily basis, as a school board candidate, it’s important that I care about our school system, its employees, children, and community members, but also important that we have individuals involved that can think of all the outcomes that come from making important decisions for Marple Newtown School District.
I believe in transparent government. No citizens should ever need to wonder about what decisions are being made and why. Access to meetings and meeting minutes will continue to be accessible to all and public comment will be an integral part of all meetings. All members of the community should feel free and safe when speaking at government meetings so long as a respectful decorum is maintained.
The only top priority for this office is offering a free and appropriate education for all children in the Marple Newtown community. This includes making all children welcome and included in the school system, it includes making sure children feel safe when attending school, and it includes providing necessary special education to any students who may need it.

Director IT & Operations
My name is Edward Madrak, and I am running for School Director of the Marple Newtown School District. After 16 years in Silicon Valley, I returned to Delaware County with my wife and two sons. My background is in technology and operations management, but my most important role is parenting two amazing children—one with ADHD, the other with Autism. Navigating special education services transformed me into an advocate for accessible, tailored education. If elected, I will work to ensure our schools embrace every student's needs and strengthen transparency between parents, educators, and leadership. Every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and empowered.
I believe that transparency, open dialogue, and active collaboration among parents, teachers, administrators, and the school board are essential. I pledge to advocate strongly for educators and families alike, ensuring their voices and concerns are genuinely heard and effectively addressed. My role here would be to be available to the public to not only listen, but to hear and understand issues they are reporting.
• Strengthening cybersecurity measures district-wide to ensure student privacy and safety and expanding resources and specialized support for students with special educational needs.
• Promoting flexible and personalized learning strategies rather than outdated, rigid educational approaches
• Increasing transparency and collaboration within the district by creating clearer, more responsive communication channels between parents, teachers, and school administrators.

Parenting special-needed children taught me firsthand the importance of strong public schools, specialized support programs, and responsive, inclusive education policies. Navigating the complexities of special education services, particularly Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), transformed me into an enthusiastic advocate for accessible, tailored education for all children. Through close collaboration with teachers and school administrators, I have seen the difference dedicated educational support makes in children's lives.
My professional journey has consistently involved solving complex challenges, managing resources effectively, and fostering clear communication—skills that I will leverage on behalf of students, parents, and staff.

I feel my professional and community experiences are both unique and multi-dimensional. First, I was an adjunct professor for over 6 years at Cabrini University. During my time there, I not only taught classes but also built new ones never offered prior. Next, I served as Board Member of Saint Anastasia's Endowment, where we managed and raised funds for various school needs ranging from tuition help to technology initiatives. Third, I am an entrepreneur that was a founding partner of a successful finance firm launched three years ago. When taken together, I have a rich set of experiences ranging from businessperson to teacher. I feel these varying perspectives will be additive when collaborating with the School Board.
A democratic approach works best in sunlight, not the shadows. The School Board meetings are open to the public, and also live-streamed. I would continue to support this transparency. One other key element to restoring public trust is having humility and an open mind. I do not feel we have a monopoly on good ideas and want to channel the ones I hear into the Board discussions. The Marple Newtown community is brimming with talented people. We should harness this strength. Trust can be strengthened when the community knows its voice matters.
My top priority is to be a louder voice for all the strengths of the Marple Newtown School District. There is such a talented student body. They have undertaken initiatives such as a School Dance-a-thon, and their mock trial team has advanced the furthest in school history. This is a small subset. Other superlatives include having the Superintendent of the Year with Tina Kaine, a distinctive honor voted on by her peers. There are so many positives with the school, and I want to make sure the community knows. My other priorities include harnessing my decades of financial experience to make sound budgetary decisions. I also want to make sure the community knows they can come to me to share new ideas and concerns.
