Qualifications
6 years served as a borough official
I I bring 6 years of Borough leadership, including 4 years as Mayor and 2 as councilman, balancing budgets for fiscal responsibility and growth. At Central Berks Police, I managed budgets while maintaining safety. I’m Ryan Maurer, a 2015 Kutztown Univ. accounting grad, with 10 years in financial services at Vanguard and JPMorgan Chase, honing financial and strategic skills. My commitment equips me to lead as Borough Mayor.
I’m running for Borough Mayor because I want to contribute positively to managing the operations and finances of the Borough. My passion for public service drives me to ensure our community thrives through responsible governance and sound financial stewardship.
Managing fluoridation at the local level requires a balanced, evidence-based approach. The October 2024 federal court ruling raises valid concerns about fluoride’s potential health risks, but decades of research also highlight its benefits for dental health, particularly in underserved communities. As a local leader, I’d prioritize transparency and community input. My goal is a solution that prioritizes public health and trust.
My top three priorities as Borough Mayor are to keep our community safe by reducing crime through strong support for Central Berks Police, supporting our dedicated first responders, and acting fiscally prudent to keep budgets balanced and debt managed. These priorities ensure a secure, well-managed Borough that serves all residents effectively.
