Having worked in the City as a Prosecutor I have extensive experience in what issues are plaguing us both in the realm of crime as well as quality of life.

My legal experience and training better prepares me to review and propose ordinances that will improve Our City and the quality of life within it.

My time in the Berks Dems has given me first hand knowledge from voters over nearly a decade on the issues most important to them in The City of Reading.
Housing; building more housing to lower mortgage and rent costs and reduce homelessness in the city. Ending the cutting up of Rowhomes

Revitalizing Downtown Reading; Working with developers and others to refurbish and open tax paying businesses on Penn Street that bring people back downtown and make our city center more of a meeting place

Fixing Hampden Blvd; Ending the traffic nightmare that is Hampden Blvd. by installing multiple roundabouts.
Working with developers to install restaurants and local businesses in downtown Reading, and hopefully multiple grades of apartments & condos in the upper levels of those buildings.

Starting a Downtown weekend Farmer's Market

Making Penn Street a walkable city center without cars during the Spring and Summer weekends.
Education, Experience >25 Years' experience as an attorney; Education: B.S. Chemical Engineering, 1988, Virginia Tech; Ph.D. Anaerobic Microbiology, 1993 Virginia Tech; J.D. Law, 1996, Georgetown University; Member of the Board of Directors for the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce; Languages: English, Spanish, German, (a little Pennsylvania Dutch)
Qualifications My foremost talent is that I help other folks to work together to achieve greatness. I have led and managed teams for federal, state, and local government groups, biotechnology and chemical companies, and school and community organizations. Most recently, I've guided my current company from being a handful of employees to being an employer of >500 in multiple states, with revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars. I am ready to lead and guide Team Reading now.

My entire career (>40 years) has been dedicated to serving teams, pursuing team goals. For a quarter-century, my role has been overseeing and guiding teams. I have worked on commercial and professional teams, raised children and sent them to college and out into the world, married, divorced, bought and sold houses, cared for aging parents, lived and served in communities up and down the Eastern seaboard, and been an involved citizen. I bring the resulting experience and skills to the Council.
(1) Keeping District 4 citizens fully informed of business before the City Council; actively soliciting and considering their opinions and ideas; (2) Actively and diligently overseeing the professionals who operate our City government, and providing them feedback, guidance, and a welcoming ear for their proposals to improve City operations; (3) Ensuring efficient, fully-thought-through use of taxpayer funds and other revenues, keeping taxes as low as possible, consistent with good operations.
My professional background is in commercial development of technologies and sustained, efficient growth of companies and organizations. Having worked from both the government and business sides of government/business cooperations, I am qualified to hitch the mechanisms of our City government to the engine of commerce.

Also, in these strange political times, my views as a moderate Republican (think Reagan, not Trump) will aid our Democrat-dominated Council to avoid stepping on federal toes.
