Biographical Information

1. What skills, knowledge, and experience do you have to help you be an effective Borough Mayor?

2. Why are you running for Borough Mayor?

3. Fluoridation in public water supplies has been studied by many agencies over many years. In Oct 2024, a federal court ruled that fluoride exposure poses a hazard to human health and ordered the EPA to respond. In Pennsylvania, decisions about fluoride in the water supplies are assigned to local government. What are your thoughts about the best way to manage this at the local level?

4. What are your three top priorities for this office?

Education, Experience BA in International Relations, MBA in International Business from St. Joseph’s University, retired Sergeant Major with 22 years in the Army.
Qualifications Certified Borough Official by the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs; incumbent for two terms.
I’ve served as Hamburg’s Mayor since 2018 and am the only candidate with direct municipal experience. I hold an MBA, am a Certified Borough Official, and have strong ties with officials at all levels of government. As a retired Army Sergeant Major, I bring proven leadership. I’ve guided Hamburg through major challenges with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and results.
I’m running for re-election because I’ve gained deep knowledge of how local government works. I believe in managing change proactively and ensuring Hamburg is ready for future opportunities, like the Schuylkill River Trail, while protecting what makes our town special. I want to keep serving our community with steady, informed leadership.
Hamburg’s water currently isn’t fluoridated, and I’ve seen no public demand to change that. With evolving science and increased bottled water use, it makes sense to stay the course. Water quality decisions should remain with the Hamburg Municipal Authority, which is tasked with ensuring safe, clean water for all residents.
First, I want to get our Police Department accredited to improve professionalism and reduce insurance costs. Second, I support adding a School Resource Officer to enhance student safety. Third, I’d work toward forming a Northern Berks Council of Governments to give our region a stronger voice and promote collaboration.

I was born and raised in Hamburg, since the Mayor oversees the Police and Emergency management, I served on the ambulance as an EMT and also ran with Hamburg and Shoemakersville Fire Companies, I also worked for the County, first in the Communications/911 Center then I was a Deputy Coroner, but jobs I worked closely with all County Police Departments along with the Pa.State Police. I feel this gives me the knowledge to work with the Borough Police and Emergency Management.
I am retired and have the time to serve as Mayor and spent the time required to serve the residents of the the Borough. The current Mayor holds a full time job with the Berks County Coroner Office, also is a constable as well as the Mayor.
My concern is for public safety, so I will work with the water department te ensure the borough water supply is safe for the community.
