Biographical Information

1. What skills, knowledge, and experience do you have to help you be an effective Borough Mayor?

2. Why are you running for Borough Mayor?

3. Fluoridation in public water supplies has been studied by many agencies over many years. In Oct 2024, a federal court ruled that fluoride exposure poses a hazard to human health and ordered the EPA to respond. In Pennsylvania, decisions about fluoride in the water supplies are assigned to local government. What are your thoughts about the best way to manage this at the local level?

4. What are your three top priorities for this office?

Education, Experience When the Home Builders Association of Berks County had an apprenticeship program I completed it. This was a 4 year program that, in addition to completing the required skills, required attending night school twice a week. After that I took several business courses at RAAC. Most of my career was spent in management moving from foremen, to superintendent ,to partner and then incorporating my own business in 1990.
Qualifications A mayor is an executive position and as a business partner, then a business owner, I have that experience. I was also President of the Home Builders Association of Berks County in 1991.
I am currently on Council so I have insight into the workings of the borough. As stated in the previous question, I have had many years experience in business management requiring working with people with a wide range of life experiences and levels of education. It would not have been unusual to talk with the laborer mixing mud for the mason in the morning and then meeting with the doctor or engineer we were building a house for in the afternoon. Not to mention everyone else in between.
I'll only have lived here 5 years this July, but I love this town. Everyone waves to everyone whether you're walking or driving. The first summer here, we had escaped cows in our yard! Why an I running? To give the people a choice. From what I've heard there's usually a choice of one. A mayor doesn't have much authority. It's mainly a free service to the community. But you need someone with the right experience in a crisis such as a toxic spill on 183 from a truck accident.
Bernville does not fluorinate their water so it's not an issue here.
I would like to see more small businesses operating in the Borough.

We have a beautiful park and I'd like to see that better utilized.

Get better control of the drivers speeding on route 183 through the borough.
