New Jersey faces challenges in affordability and economic growth that require attention. Property taxes remain a significant burden on homeowners, and I will work to reduce them through responsible tax reform while preserving essential services. Affordable housing is another priority, and I will support policies that encourage the development of affordable housing, particularly in high-demand areas near transportation hubs. To strengthen the economy, I will back initiatives that create jobs and invest in workforce development, including vocational training, to equip New Jerseyans with the skills needed to succeed in a modern economy, ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
To improve New Jersey’s democracy, I support reforms that enhance voter access and transparency. Expanding early voting and mail-in voting will make elections more accessible, especially for working people and those with disabilities. I also advocate for automatic voter registration through state agencies like the DMV to make the voting process more efficient and inclusive. Additionally, I support strong ethics reforms to ensure transparency in government decision-making and actions that build trust between citizens and elected officials. These reforms will empower voters and strengthen our democracy, ensuring that it reflects the spirit of our residents.
New Jersey has immense potential for economic growth, and I’m committed to ensuring that all residents benefit. I will work to reduce the cost of living for working families by lowering taxes and focusing on initiatives that support small businesses and local entrepreneurs. Strengthening our community-driven economy will be a priority, and I’ll support policies that make it easier for small businesses to grow and create jobs. Investments in infrastructure, including public transportation and broadband access, are essential to connecting our communities and providing opportunities for all. Workforce development is another key area, and I will push for more vocational training, apprenticeships, and partnerships with local businesses to help New Jerseyans succeed in the modern economy. By focusing on these grassroots efforts, we can build a stronger, more inclusive economy for everyone.
Equitable funding for public education is crucial to ensuring that every student in the 20th Legislative District has access to quality education. I will fight for a fair funding formula that addresses disparities between schools, ensuring that towns like Elizabeth, Kenilworth, Roselle, and Union receive the support they need. A key priority for me is expanding access to universal pre-k, which will give all children a strong academic foundation from the start. Additionally, I will push for increased funding for childcare, ensuring that working families have access to affordable options. I also support providing more resources for mental health services in schools, recognizing the importance of emotional and psychological support for student success. Finally, I will advocate for vocational training and career-readiness programs to prepare students for success in the local workforce, helping to make New Jersey more affordable and accessible for all families.
New Jersey is a state built by immigrants, and I strongly believe in supporting fair and compassionate immigration policies. Through my years of work with organizations like Make the Road NJ, I’ve seen firsthand how critical it is to provide a pathway to citizenship for undocumented individuals who have lived and contributed to our communities. I also support family reunification policies that prioritize keeping families together. I will work to ensure that New Jersey remains a welcoming state for immigrants by advocating for access to healthcare, education, and workers’ rights for all residents, regardless of immigration status. I stand with DACA recipients, ensuring they can live, work, and contribute to society without fear of deportation. Lastly, I support comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level, including improving the visa system and protecting workers’ rights to create a fair and just system for all.
