We must address the affordability crisis, which impacts families with property taxes, utility rates, grocery store prices, healthcare costs, childcare, and the list continues on and on. This is even worse as international tariff wars directly impact us as consumers and are forcing a new wave of rising costs. As a lawmaker, I’m working to lower costs by analyzing the root causes of high property taxes to develop innovative long-term solutions, fully fund property tax relief programs, and support policies to reduce utility rate hikes. As Chairwoman of the Assembly Health Committee, I’m leading efforts to address the 350 million dollar budget hole we now face by reckless federal government cuts, which would result in mass healthcare layoffs and impact patient outcomes. Our most pressing challenge continues to be the disruptive actions of the Trump Administration and ensuring we do everything to protect our residents and minimize rising costs.
Improving our democracy begins with protecting our electoral systems in the state and enhancing access to improve participation. Last year, we saw some challenges with long wait times to vote on Election Day in some parts of the state, and I spoke out publicly about my frustration with a process that took, in some cases, more than three hours to vote, which has jumpstarted reforms to improve the voting process. I’m incredibly proud to have sponsored legislation to establish early voting throughout New Jersey, which saw an all-time high of more than 1 million votes cast in the most recent presidential election, expanded access to vote by mail, and critically needed reforms to protect the security of our elections. Additionally, I have worked extensively on cybersecurity issues that will further protect our election systems against attacks from dangerous actors. I have also championed efforts to improve voting access for persons with disabilities.
Our local small businesses are the backbone of our economy and communities. To support a thriving economy, we must ensure businesses can succeed while supporting our workforce by providing incentives for job creation and capital investment, disbursing financial resources for small businesses, attracting film studios for large-scale production projects, and maximizing the benefits of urban enterprise zones.

Furthermore, we must improve our economy through comprehensive economic incentives, prioritize investments in high-growth sectors, and create viable job opportunities to position New Jersey as a global leader in the innovation economy.

And, by supporting cultural, historic, food and beverage tourism including online gaming and sports wagering, enabling fixed-odds horse wagering and investing in the promotion of local tourism, historical and agricultural industries we can bolster economic opportunities in every region on our state.
I strongly believe that education is the essence of opportunity, that a good education levels the playing field and creates fairness in future academic pursuits, and that we must do everything to ensure that New Jersey continues to lead the nation with the best school systems. As a state lawmaker, I have fought to close a gap of over 30 million dollars for underfunded Burlington County public schools. I will always fiercely advocate for teachers and students and ensure student success. We are facing more than $1 billion in education cuts from the Trump Administration. I will work tirelessly to find solutions to ensure our students have the continued resources for a high-quality education. Additionally, I’m fighting to improve students' access to mental health services in our schools by ensuring wellness rooms, providing mental health first aid training for teachers and faculty, and establishing a task force to analyze the necessary services to improve care.
Our immigration system in America has been broken for decades and unfortunately congress has failed to pass comprehensive immigration reform. We can smartly secure our border and create a modern immigration system that reflects our values by guaranteeing due process, clear guidelines for undocumented immigrants to earn citizenship, revamp our visa system and understand the vital role these reforms would play to support our businesses and farmers. While we need to address policies on a federal level, we must have a zero-tolerance policy in the Garden State against undocumented individuals, who commit violent crimes, including human trafficking because we can both lead with compassion and also fiercely protect our residents.

New Jersey faces several pressing challenges in 2025, but 3 key issues stand out: affordability, education, and infrastructure.

Affordability: The cost of living, from property taxes to housing and everyday expenses, continues to burden working families and seniors. I will advocate for property tax relief, strengthen programs that support homeownership and rental assistance, and push for economic policies that make New Jersey more affordable for all residents.

Education & Workforce Development: Our schools must be fully funded and equipped to prepare students for the future. I will work to ensure fair school funding, expand career and technical education programs, and support initiatives that address learning loss and mental health challenges among students.

Infrastructure & Public Safety: Aging roads, bridges, and public transit systems need urgent investment. I will support smart infrastructure investments that create jobs, improve safety, and make our state more sustainable.
I support expanding voter access through early voting, same-day registration, and better language accessibility. I also advocate for more substantial campaign finance transparency and fair redistricting to ensure every voice is heard.
I will work to strengthen New Jersey’s economy by supporting small businesses, investing in workforce development, and expanding job training programs. Additionally, I support tax relief for working families and policies that foster innovation and economic growth. Reimagining zoning laws to meet our current and future housing needs is also essential to ensuring affordability and sustainable development across the state.
As a public school educator of 17+ years, I know firsthand the importance of fully funding our schools to ensure every child, regardless of ZIP code, has access to a quality education. I will fight to protect and expand school funding, support our teachers with fair wages and resources, and invest in programs that address learning gaps. Equitable education funding is critical to student success, and I am committed to ensuring that every child in New Jersey has the opportunities they deserve.
As an immigrant who is proud to be an American, I believe in fair and humane immigration policies that reflect our nation’s values of opportunity and inclusion. I support expanding pathways to citizenship, protecting DREAMers, and ensuring immigrant families have access to essential services like education and healthcare. I also advocate for reformed work visa programs to help businesses address labor shortages. New Jersey’s strength lies in its diversity, and I will continue fighting for policies that support immigrants and build a stronger, more inclusive future for all.
