Modern-day Sheriffs have a wide range of duties, from educating the public with drug prevention and active shooter training to apprehending fugitives and making criminal arrests. Choosing the law enforcement activities that give the community the greatest return while staying within our budget, manpower, and resource limits is challenging and the most important part of the job. My goal is to equalize the time spent on Courthouse Security and Inmate Transportation with anti-crime activities within the community through an open-door policy for citizens to voice concerns and opinions on crime prevention. I have found through my experience by keeping good communications with the citizens we are able to prioritize the needs of the county.
