For six years, I served as a Graduate Advisor at Wesley College, supporting students in their academic and professional growth. As Program Director with Telamon Head Start, I managed two sites providing early childhood education and resources. Currently, as a Nutrition Field Agent, I oversee USDA grants with the Delaware Department of Education, ensuring effective administration and compliance. My previous roles include Child Care Licensing Specialist (2007–2018), TECE 1 Instructor at Delaware Tech (2007–2011), Distance Learning Instructor (2011–2013), and TECE 1 Instructor at Polytech Adult Education since 2018."
I am committed to exploring innovative tools and strategies aimed at increasing student engagement and interest in Language Arts. By fostering a love for reading and writing, we can work together to improve literacy scores and provide our students with the strong communication skills essential for their future success.
If elected as Smyrna School Board Member-at-Large, I will advocate for preserving the integrity of our curriculum. I firmly believe in the importance of maintaining diverse topics, subjects, books, and programs that enrich students' education and foster critical thinking. Removing these elements would limit opportunities for growth and understanding, and I am committed to ensuring that every student has access to a well-rounded and inclusive education.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse population, including low-income families, English language learners, and students with disabilities. I am committed to ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive. By carefully reviewing federal and state regulations, I would assess the district's current practices to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. I am dedicated to exploring innovative ideas and strategies to enhance our educational programs and better serve our community.

Without thoroughly reviewing the budget, I am unable to make informed recommendations regarding the increase or decrease of any specific line item. A comprehensive analysis is crucial to understand the allocation of resources and determine the most effective adjustments.

The present funding sources state and federal government need to include additional funding for the functions that directly impact student learning. Seeking grant funding is imperative to offset the need for a referendum.
