I grew up on a farm near St John. I worked 36 yrs for a large Fox Valley electrical contractor in roles of apprentice, journeyman, foreman, superintendent, project manager, branch manager and regional VP before retiring in 2022. I’m running to serve, contribute and make a difference in the community. My work experience will enable me to perform the role effectively through teamwork, communication, fact finding and common sense. I believe in honesty, fiscal responsibility, transparency, planning, rules, managing by the rule and dealing with the exception. I do not have a personal agenda, vendetta, beef with anyone or particular issue. I simply want to do my part in keeping Harrison a great place to live.
I think the issues Harrison faces are primarily centered on rapid growth, with traffic congestion and the need for expanded public services (police and fire departments) and utilities (roads, sewer and water) being at the forefront. We need to see and agree to an updated comprehensive plan setting direction for the future of the village and insure future development is controlled and in alignment with the plan, not done in a haphazard manner. I am also dead set against any commercial wind power development.
I do not have any prior experience working in/on municipal government. I have served as a trustee for a church congregation.
I think Harrison is a great place to live due to its proximity to workplaces in the Fox Valley as well as Lake Winnebago and High Cliff State Park. I think there is a good plan in place to expand amenities like parks and trails that mirrors future developments. I wouldn’t mind seeing additional convenience businesses like gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores or marketplaces.
