In 2005 when I was elected I was motivated to run for the Westchester Park District Commissioner for the following reasons. 1. I wanted to give back to community I was raised in and was fortunate enough to have a great childhood in the parks and then have the opportunity to be employed and coordinate programs for 10 years . 2. I want to make a difference in the lives of people by serving them so making recreation and leisure activities available and accessible to all is important to a vibrant community . 3. Every election cycle that comes I evaluate where I am and today my passion for this position has not changed and my results the last four years are testament to that so my intent is to make the next four my best and conclude with 25yrs
Set policy that is fair and equitable for staff and residents.

Allocate funding for expansion of programs services and capital improvements that make fiduciary sense to our community.

Provide the best parks available with responsible spending of the residents tax base.

Eyes and ears of the community .

Keeping parks safe and clean.
1. Adapting our programs to meet the changing age and demographic in our community. The census recently reported and our local schools show a decline in children under 16 yrs . The park district must always be in the position to pivot and tailor the offerings to meet the needs of our community.

2. Better utilization of our assets. As the age of our community has changed a bit we need to start marketing our ball fields and other assets so that we are getting more people to use our parks.
As building and ground chair for many years I am proud of the safety and cleanliness of our parks with the close communication of our experienced staff.

The Westchester Park District has done an excellent job with a lean full time staff while using part time spring and summer effectively.

Responsible spending with accountability to our service providers .
LISTEN to our residents.

I have represented the WPD For 17 of the 20 yrs I have served the district at IAPD, IPPRA conferences to collaborate and hear what other districts are doing so we can adapt for our residents .
Encourage them to participate in our community by attending board meetings and volunteering to be part of our CAB board.

Market our website and encourage the residents to see all we offer.
