A proud Maywoodian and candidate for mayor of Maywood. My roots run deep in this community—I attended Emerson Elementary School and Proviso East High School.
Every resident’s voice matters. As mayor, I will prioritize community engagement, ensuring that decisions are made transparently and in the best interests of our residents. I will work diligently to eliminate negative stereotypes associated with past administrations and will lead Maywood towards a brighter, more prosperous future. Having witnessed the highs and lows of our beloved village, I aim to enhance community engagement, promote economic development, and ensure transparency in local government for all residents.
As Maywood Village President, the most pressing challenge facing the village is safety and economic development. I will lead efforts to address it by fostering partnerships with local businesses, securing grants for infrastructure improvements, and promoting community engagement initiatives to attract new investments and create job opportunities. Together, we can revitalize our economy and enhance the quality of life for all residents.
To address chronic property tax increases, implement a comprehensive review of tax assessments to ensure fairness, advocate for legislation that caps annual increases, promote community engagement in budget discussions, and explore alternative funding sources for local services. Additionally, consider tax relief programs for low-income residents to alleviate financial burdens while maintaining essential public services.

The current village government appears to lack adequate resources and programs tailored for Hispanic or Latino residents. With 33% of the population identifying as such, insufficient bilingual services and cultural representation in local events may hinder community engagement. Additionally, limited access to Spanish-language materials can alienate non-English speaking households, suggesting a need for more inclusive policies and outreach efforts.
The president’s targeted cuts may impact Maywood’s funding for essential programs like public safety, education, and infrastructure. The village has initiated community discussions and budget reviews to assess these potential impacts. However, the adequacy of their response remains uncertain, as proactive measures may still be needed to mitigate adverse effects on local services and resources.
As an elected official, I would prioritize transparency by regularly sharing updates and decisions with residents through newsletters and social media. I would establish monthly town hall meetings to encourage open dialogue and feedback. Collaborating with fellow board members on community projects would foster teamwork, while creating a dedicated communication channel for residents would ensure their voices are heard.
