Notifying the public of what township government can do for them.
I am working with schools and will be reaching out to local religious organisations to inform them what township government does and how we can work with them and the constituents.
Second issue would be the Governor wanting to eliminate Township Government. The county would be overcome with constituents needing help. At a township level we can can help the constituents with more needs they may need and they will not slip thru the cracks.

I would like to continue my work as Winfield Township Supervisor bringing the best for my constituents. I have many future ideas such as:
-Expand Winfield Township support via its own community center to better assist seniors.
-Work hand-in-hand with the County Mental Health Board to locally target the needs of Winfield Township constituents.
-Upgrade the Township Cemetery to possibly widen the road for better access as people visit their loved ones.
As your Winfield Township Supervisor, I am committed to accomplishing this with efficiency, effectiveness and care. Therefore, I am asking for your support in voting for me, Nicole Prater as your Winfield township Supervisor.

Hello, my name is Sheila Rutledge. I have been a resident of DuPage County and Winfield Township for 33 years and I raised my two adult children's here in the district 200 school system. I am a county board member and believe I have learned the skills to step up to township government. I also believe that our township is woefully inadequate at providing services to our seniors, youth and families and Spanish speaking residents. Along with the great slate of candidates you will consider I believe we have the talent to really bring needed services to Winfield Township beyond the basics currently being offered. I am a small business owner in addition to my County Board service as well as a real estate investor.
1-I believe the uncertainty of Federal Government funding for community services is the most crucial. Because townships receive no federal funding and the county relies heavily on fed funds for community services the township may become the main entity for helping those in need.
2- My 2nd concern is to do a better job of the task of General Assistance. The current administration actually said that some people were turned down for GA because "they made $.50 too much!" I also am concerned that our township tax payer's dollars are going to fund programs in Wayne Township that serve seniors and youth and family services. I'm told that our seniors are no longer able to attend Wayne's senior center but still no effort for a program here.
I have spent my whole life in service to the public. As a portrait photographer for 33 years I learned early to be nice but firm. I also spent 15 years in the hospitality industry where my attitude was a factor in my income. As supervisor, it will be my responsibility to run board meetings in a respectful manner. No raised voices or derogatory remarks will be allowed. I will record all meetings and post to YouTube to keep members accountable for respectful communication. I will use my experience as a County Board Member to be sure we can be proud of our conduct as we work through the very real issues facing our community.
Thank you so much to the League and your mission of making sure voters are informed!
I hope that these words and the video will give voters a picture of who I am and to give you the confidence to cast your vote for not only myself but the slate of candidates we have put together to bring real change and support to our community!
In closing, I believe that I am the right person for this position and that the slate of candidates running with me will enhance our ability to finally get things done for Winfield Township. Many of our candidates are well known in our community and already have developed a level of trust the voters can count on! I’m asking voters to count on us to provide what their tax dollars should be buying.
