I have lived in Carol Stream since 1998 with my husband Rick. We have one son, Ricky who lives in Urbana.
I am a District Leader with KinderCare, overseeing early childhood education centers in the Western Suburbs. The skills I use as a business leader such as communication, decision making and collaboration will give me a solid foundation in the role of Trustee.
I am running for Library Trustee because I believe the Carol Stream Library is the heartbeat of the community, providing resources, entertainment, education and a safe space for all. I want to be a part of the board to continue the work that has been done and improve on what is to come.
The most significant issue will be working within our budget while continuing to make improvements to the facility and upgrading materials while still maintaining a high level of service for the residents.
The second issue will be planning for the future. How to ensure the library is offering the most up to date resources. Choosing the best candidates when leadership roles become available. And staying connected to the needs of the residents.
I believe communication is key. Clear communication within the board to encourage robust conversations, questions and exchanging of ideas. Clear communication within the community on social media platforms as well as being available to residents to discuss ideas and concerns.
I truly believe that the Carol Stream Library is an integral part of the culture of Carol Stream. I want to be involved in making decisions that will keep our library financially responsible while continuing to provide world class services for our residents. I look forward to being a brand ambassador for the Carol Stream Library - sharing my love for all the library has to offer all residents.

I grew up in a small town that had no bookstores but did have a library. To me, libraries are integral to the health of a community. I believe that the Carol Stream Library has programs that benefit everyone and I want to support the good work they are doing.
I have served on the board of Masters Christian Preschool and I’m currently a member of the Queen Bee Educational Fund board so I bring experience working in a non-profit committee setting.
While I think the library runs smoothly, the issue for any board is to do the most good with taxpayer dollars. I think this can be accomplished by listening to both library staff and the public to ensure that programs are meeting the needs of Carol Stream.
I believe that the public deserves to contribute their ideas and suggestions to the library staff and trustees. They may not get the answer that they want but should come away feeling they were listened to and that their idea was considered even if it wasn’t implemented.
As a frequent library user (who now has a granddaughter who is attending programs) I want the Carol Stream Library to remain a welcoming and functional place with resources for everyone. If elected, I look forward to serving on the board.
I have lived in Carol Stream for 26 years. I seek a position on the library board because I strongly believe that libraries play a vital role in fostering community engagement and providing valuable resources and services to our residents. At a time filled with misinformation, I want to help to keep our library as a trusted space for education and collaboration.
I bring over 30 years of experience in software development and executive leadership. My background in organizational development and team leadership will enable me to support the board. I have been an active user of the Carol Stream Library, engaging in a wide range of activities, from attending informative talks and participating in clubs to borrowing books, movies, and games.
Carol Stream, like many communities across the United States, is experiencing an aging population. As the demographic shifts, it is increasingly important to ensure that our library remains a valuable resource for older residents. I strongly support the allocation of funding toward programs, speakers, and services specifically designed to engage and enrich the lives of our senior community members.
Climate change and pollution are pressing concerns nationwide, and Carol Stream is not immune to these challenges. I am committed to supporting initiatives that provide education on these critical issues while also promoting outreach programs that encourage meaningful action within our community.
I have many years of experience working with and leading large teams. I have always found that by being a good listener first and then communicating ideas has been a great way of bringing people together and getting to a consensus on ideas. I am a strong advocate for transparency and believe in actively engaging with the community to seek input, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in the decision-making process.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the Library Board and play an active role in strengthening this vital community resource. I am an active member of the DuPage Organic Garden Club, advocating for organic gardening and environmental sustainability. Additionally, I have contributed to local initiatives to plant native species along Klein Creek, supporting efforts to preserve and enhance our ecosystem. By prioritizing community education and environmental initiatives, we can foster a more sustainable future for Carol Stream, with the library serving as a key resource in these efforts.
