I have lived in Warrenville for 17 years with my wife and adult son. I recently retired from Community Unit School District 200 from my position as Operations Manager for the District after 30 years. I am running for office because I have a passion for serving the Warrenville community. I have done this by being a Park District commissioner for the last 16 years, on the Board of the Warrenville Friends of the 4th Committee and the Warrenville Historical Society. I bring with me 44 years of Facility knowledge, as well as accreditations as a Certified Professional Maintenance Manager and a Certified Professional Supervisor. The Illinois Association of Park Districts has also given me Master Board Member status.
The City is allowing the Park District to take over Cerny Park. This is a great opportunity, given the grants that have been awarded, to bring new experiences to Warrenville. These will include a better playground area, outdoor Pickleball Courts, and a splash pad. As a board member, I have been planning and executing this exciting challenge from the ground floor up. Partnerships just make good sense in this economic climate. I would like to see the Park District consider additional relationships with community organizations, including Community Unit School District 200 and the DuPage Forest Preserve, to expand the possibilities and programs for the residents we serve.
As a Master Board Member, the highest recognition the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) can give, I have been involved in dozens of professional sessions and workshops looking at collegiality and transparency at the state and national levels. I am also a member of the IAPD Planning Committee and have been a session moderator at the state level for several years. I pride myself on my honesty and diligence with my colleagues and the community, and I promote that belief in every action I take on behalf of the Park District Board.
The Warrenville Park District is indeed "The Place To Be” for exceptional experiences, offering a wide range of events and programs. I firmly believe the Park District is the best “bang for the buck” within Warrenville, and over the last 16 years, I have been proud to be a part of this fantastic resource for the community. With the help of you, the voters, I would appreciate being re-elected as Commissioner for four more years so that I can continue the successful mission, vision, and values that the Warrenville Park District brings to our community.
