My name is Michael Hoffmann, I am running for Mayor of Warrenville. I’ve lived in Warrenville my whole life. As a dedicated advocate for responsible leadership, I’m focused on reversing the course set by the current administration, which has allowed critical safeguards to slip through the cracks.

I have run my own business for over 25 years. For the last 16 years I have been active at the City Council Meetings as an advocate for Warrenville residents.

I was an Alderman of Warrenville's Ward 3, for 4 years.
I have a strong commitment to protect taxpayers bottom line and respecting private property rights.

I will reinstate the tax cap & apply some of the Home Rule sales tax toward decreasing property tax. And, change the trend of irresponsible land development.

I will work toward developing alternative revenue streams thru land leases of vacant city property. We will find the right partners to accommodate our visions. In turn, reducing property taxes.

Warrenville should not be condemning private property for non-essential use. We should be protecting our residents rights.
I will bring a strong commitment to protect taxpayers, enhance transparency & addressing the real issues that impact residents.

I will Accomplish this by Reorganizing “Home Town Happenings” to include More Facts & Less Fluff.

I am Commited to bringing back a FREE Warrenville newspaper even if it takes using my mayoral salary.

I will lead with strong values of transparency with a commitment to the residents of Warrenville.
Michael Hoffmann, I'm running for mayor of Warrenville with a strong commitment to protect taxpayers, enhance transparency & addressing the real issues that impact residents. As a dedicated advocate for responsible leadership, I’m focused on reversing the course set by the current administration, which has allowed critical safeguards to slip through the cracks.
I'm running for Mayor because I love this town! I've been an active Warrenville resident all my life. My parents were involved in the incorporation movement in the 1960s to prevent Warrenville from being swallowed up by our neighboring cities, thus preserving our unique community character. My father, Cliff, was Warrenville's Fire Chief and a small business owner. Johnson School in Summerlakes is named in his honor. Service is in my blood; ten years as school board President, and six years on the Park Board. Retired from business, I am ready to use my community and professional experience, skills, and love of Warrenville to serve as our next Mayor! I promise to provide the respectful, diligent, passionate leadership Warrenville deserves.

Economic development is one area in which I plan to spend a lot of time. I'll work closely with our city staff to use every lever possible to attract desirable commercial development to our City. Seeing the recently approved development plan, Warrenville By Design, come to life is high on my priority list. At the same time, I believe that it is important to support the businesses that have already committed themselves to Warrenville. Continuing the good governance we've enjoyed is my second issue. I believe in respectful communications with residents and city staff, a balanced budget, taxes kept in check, well-maintained infrastructure, and a strong emphasis on public safety to keep Warrenville a great place to live, work, and play.
I am a proponent of convening and communicating openly. I have a positive outlook, and I’m honest. I know how to work with people, starting by giving them the respect and consideration they deserve. I've led Boards in my personal and professional life across many industries and parts of the country, giving me experience considering differing perspectives. An example is my election as District 200 School Board President five times as the only member from Warrenville. While being the lone voice from our city, I led the effort to move Hubble MS from Wheaton to Warrenville. One of my strengths is being able to bring people together. I've had many people tell me that, though we may have disagreed, they felt heard. This is a culture I promote.
With the love I’ve always had for my hometown, I am ready to take on the role of Mayor of Warrenville. This is a job I’ve thought about since I was a child when my parents worked on the campaign of our second Mayor. Having retired from full-time work, I have the time to bring all my past experiences together to work to make Warrenville an even better place tomorrow than it is today. Being a lifelong resident, I have respect for our past with a vision for our future --a future where we will continue to enjoy safe/healthy neighborhoods, where our kids are welcomed into great schools, and where our storefronts are filled with thriving businesses. Warrenville residents have elected me five times in the past and I will make you proud as Mayor.
