I am deeply invested in the success of our district, both as a parent and a community member. With two children in the district, I have been actively involved in school activities and served in leadership roles, including as PTA president and Treasurer and as a parent representative on the PBIS committee. Attending board meetings as a parent, I was discouraged by the lack of open discussion and the high number of appointed members. When six seats opened in 2023, I ran to help ensure our district had a fully elected board of individuals committed to improving our schools. Now that I have served two years, I am even more keenly aware of the importance of the position and would like to continue the great work we have started.
One of the most pressing issues our district faces is a population decline, which has led to uneven enrollment across our buildings, making it challenging to distribute resources equitably. The board addressed this issue through boundary changes that took effect this school year. However, current enrollment numbers still indicate some disparity between schools, and we must continue monitoring this closely. The budget is also a concern as we operate at a deficit and draw from our reserves. Though we are not currently facing a budget crisis, we need to heed the lessons of other school districts and be proactive in taking thoughtful, deliberate action now so we are not forced to take rushed and drastic action in the future.
Board members are guided by a framework of existing laws and policies, district strategy, and board goals. I also genuinely believe that we all have the best interests of the students and district at heart. This framework and shared purpose allow me to approach differing viewpoints with an open mind and seek common ground when disagreements arise. Most decisions are not contentious, but when I disagree with other members, I state my position clearly and respectfully, seek support from other members, and vote based on my beliefs and conscience. I have been on the winning and losing side of split votes, and what's most important is that we have open and honest discussions and accept the result of the vote as we are duty-bound to do.
Serving on the school board for the past two years has been an incredibly rewarding experience, particularly the opportunities I've had to engage directly with students in discussions promoting the board's equity, diversity, and inclusion goals. I also serve on the Finance Committee, Board Relations Committee, Dual Language Committee, and District Leadership Team, which has allowed me to gain valuable insight into our district from various angles. I learn more at every meeting I attend, and I am excited to continue learning and growing as a board member. If re-elected, I pledge to continue to make student-centered decisions that strengthen our community and empower our students and staff.

As a passionate advocate for education, proud member & parent, I am committed to ensuring that every student in our district has the opportunity to succeed- regardless of their background, zip code, race or economic status. I am a pharmacist with a science-based, research background, & as we innovate & bring a STEAM focus to our schools, I want to lend my expertise in enhancing our move in this direction. I will bring a unique perspective to ensure alignment with our Portrait of a Graduate & Strategic Plan & partner with our students, educators, parents & community members to help deliver a high-quality, inclusive & equitable education by LISTENing to all voices, supporting the LEARNing of our students and LEADing by data-driven decisions.
Some areas that I would like to enhance are student and staff safety and well-being, including educating on and addressing bullying and the impact/use of social media platforms. This is a rapidly changing area with new research and learnings that we can apply in our schools. I would also like to ensure that our students have the tools and skills for smoother transitions from elementary to middle school and middle to high school. I will work with key stakeholders to maximizing our limited resources in the areas of greatest need while ensuring the biggest impact to support the well-being and educational prospects of all our students.
As a healthcare professional, very adept in working in a global team setting to achieve common goals, with sincerity and focus on the patient, I will bring the same work ethic and a diverse and real-world perspective to my role as a school board member to advocate for the well-being and success of our students. As someone who doesn't specifically come from an education background, it is essential for me to consider various perspectives before school policy decisions are made, and I intend to work transparently and encourage engagement from students, staff, administrators, parents and the broader community to ensure the public education of our students is in line with what we all value for today and tomorrow.
We are a diverse and growing community with a strong appreciation for producing responsible and successful global citizens, and this became more clear to me through my involvement in the Portrait of a Graduate efforts by the school district. I am a proud district mom and healthcare professional with a unique skillset - I am a proactive listener and solutions-oriented team-player who will bring a fresh perspective to this role. Education has been a driving force in shaping who I am today and providing me with the invaluable tools to achieve my life goals and serve my community, and this drives my passion to help ensure our schools continue to be places of opportunity, creativity, and growth for all students.
I'm Allison Williams, and I have served on the CCSD93 Board of Education for the past two years. I have been a School Social Worker in DuPage and Cook counties since 2006. With 19 years in education, I've seen the daily challenges public schools face and the barriers that hinder teachers from providing the best education possible.

I'm running for school board to help remove these barriers and create a more supportive environment for students and staff. When educators have the tools and resources they need, students thrive. As a board member, I will continue advocating for those on the front lines, ensuring their needs are heard and acted upon to improve student outcomes.
A key issue facing our district is ensuring a safe, supportive environment for students and staff. When everyone feels secure and valued, they can focus on teaching and learning. Prioritizing both physical safety and mental wellness fosters a thriving school community.

Another challenge is closing the achievement gap to ensure all students, regardless of background, have equal opportunities to succeed. Addressing disparities through targeted resources and effective teaching strategies creates a more inclusive, equitable education system where every student can reach their full potential.
With my background in education, I bring a valuable perspective to group discussions, ensuring decisions are practical and student-centered. I actively listen, ask thoughtful questions, and foster collaboration among board members. During open sessions, I raise key considerations to encourage productive, well-informed decisions.

In my first term, I prioritized and pushed for collaboration among stakeholders, leading to the creation of the Board Relations Committee. This group strengthens collaboration among the board, teachers, and administrators, addressing key issues like instruction, school culture, and legislation. Together, we are creating meaningful improvements for our schools and community.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for the support and trust you’ve placed in me to serve our students, teachers, and community. Over the past term, I have been dedicated to prioritizing student and staff wellness while ensuring that every voice in our community is heard. Our schools thrive when we create an environment where students feel supported, educators are valued, and families are engaged. I am committed to continuing this work and advocating for the needs of all stakeholders. I humbly ask for your vote so we can keep building a school system that fosters success, well-being, and a strong sense of community.
