Battle Creek City Commissioner DutiesCity Commissioners are responsible for operational tasks such as the approval of a yearly fiscal budget, but they are also responsible for the long-term goals of the community, its major projects, land use and development, strategic planning, and capital improvement. In accordance with the Battle Creek City Charter, the City Commission is the elected legislative and policy making body of the City. The City Commission shall appoint the City Manager and a City Attorney, who shall serve at the pleasure of a majority of the membership of the City Commission.
