Wheeler’s urgent needs include supporting small businesses, improving police presence with limited funding, revitalizing empty buildings that have been vacant too long, and addressing high water bills. As mayor, I’ll prioritize local business growth while staying committed to the Wheeler vision, promote community policing to enhance safety without excessive costs, and investigate high water charges to ensure fair pricing. Together, we can make Wheeler an even better place to live.
What interests me most about the duties of a Mayor is the opportunity to serve the community directly and make meaningful improvements in the lives of residents. I’m passionate about bringing people together, addressing local challenges like supporting small businesses and preserving our natural beauty, and working collaboratively to find solutions that benefit everyone. Being able to guide Wheeler’s future while staying true to its unique character is a role I’m excited to take on.
Wheeler's key infrastructure needs include addressing storm-related flooding, improving rundown buildings, and providing restrooms at the docks. To finance these critical projects, I would actively pursue grant funding at the state and federal levels, specifically targeting programs that support small towns. Additionally, I’d focus on boosting local income through increased tourism and business growth, which would provide the revenue needed to tackle these essential infrastructure upgrades.
